Overview
Each change made in the Provisioner platform is tracked in an Audit Log. This is available from the Provisioner interface using the menu on the left hand side to select 'Audit Log'.
The log is shown for the current Partner. To view changes made at a child level you will need to browse to that Partner. For example, in our image above, we are logged in as a test user Christie Cline. If that user goes and creates a customer underneath the partner Contoso, which is a child partner of our Documentation Demo Partners Inc, then we will need to navigate to that partner level to see it in the Audit Log:
By default, all API requests that modify data (Create, Edit or Delete) are shown. However, all read/GET requests are logged as well and can be viewed by altering the value in the Action Type dropdown.
API Request User Hidden
The Audit Log shows all entries, including those made by the System itself, plus Partners at all levels. When viewing the Audit Log, all users can see all changes, however the author/requestor for each change is only visible to those users at the same or a higher level in the hierarchy.
Image we have a hierarchy of Partners:
- Demo Documentation Partner Inc
- Contoso
- End Reseller Inc
Portal Users at the Contoso level will be able to view the Audit Log for Contoso and End Reseller Inc. If a portal user from Demo Documentation Partner Inc made a change on End Reseller Inc, the Contoso user will see the change, but not who made the change.
API Request/Response Stored Data
All non sensitive HTTP request and response data is available. Each audit log row can be expanded to see this data, along with the full API path.
HTTP responses that include sensitive data, such as API key generation or Portal User Invitation generation, are not stored.
