Configure a User's Phone Number
Step 1: Find the User
Navigate to the User's page using the left hand side menu. Select the Settings cog icon for the appropriate User's row. In our example we are going to add a phone number to Debra Berger.
Step 2: Set as Phone Ready / Enterprise Voice Enabled
Once on the User's setting screen, ensure the user is marked as Phone Ready. This sets the Enterprise Voice Enabled flag in Microsoft Teams and is a requirement to then allow a phone number to be assigned to the user. It is also a requirement for the user to be featured in an auto attendant or call queue.
Toggle to set as Phone Ready / Enterprise Voice Enabled.
Step 3: Select the Phone Number
Once the Phone Ready toggle has been enabled you will be able to select a phone number for the user.
It's best practice to set an emergency location for the User at the same time. For certain numbers/countries this is enforced, the portal will tell you if this is the case.
Once the form is complete, select the Update Phone Number button.
Back on our User listing page we can see our target user Debra Berger now has a number assigned and is marked as Phone Ready.
